Car/LCV Sales Russia: 2010


Some details of the Russian car market: Lada had 76% of the Russian market in 2001. That slid to 21.5% in 2008, but has now come back to 27%. It is still the dominant brand in the country however, just not as much so. Kia has climbed ten places in rank in the last two years to 3rd, while Mitsubishi has fallen six to 14th in the same period. As for Honda, well they have slumped from 12th to 23rd in just two years!!! Virtually all of Renault's sales in Russia are in fact Dacias.

The market as a whole fell 1.5 million unit sales from '08 to '09, but then rebounded half a million for '10, so total sales are volatile to say the least! The economy seems to be settling down now so a solid 2011 beckons.
