Opel/Vauxhall Production : 2017

With GM's European manufacturing owned by French car company PSA, this report comes under the label PSA. For the previous year, it is GM, which can be found
by clicking here. I was wondering if the data would be forthcoming but obviously it's business as usual.

For the year, there was some rationalisation with production. GM Europe had been retaining market share at the expense of profit. Closing plants isn't easy in Europe with all the political issues associated with that. Getting Opel/Vauxhall back in the black will now be PSA's responsibility.

Spain accounts for just over a third of European volume from its single plant. None of the French nor the Turkish production comes from O/V plants. That also applies to overseas production as well. Manufacturing by Opel/Vauxhall plants for other companies is not included below, but the volume of such isn't that high.

Summary: There is plenty of work required to turn things around. Emissions, plant utilisation and procuring profitability to name the more obvious issues. South Korean production went up which surprised me. Moving manufacturing back to Europe will be the goal in due course.
